Gallery 8-3 - Just Wonderful Art

At Quail Lane Studios, although we are based in Arizona, we travel the world. Much of our finest work has nothing to do with either the Southwest or flowers and plants. Sometimes a shot is too irresistible to be ignored, and sometimes the process of digitography places the work in a category well beyond our initial vision. These works are in Gallery 8. What makes the bird in Australia, or the volcano in the Pacific so special? Look closely. Be sure and check our other galleries too; they overlap a little.

Snug in the Canyon©. It is a stormy day on the canyon rim, and the shaded light makes the colors of the walls darkly intense. Way down at the bottom of the canyon, the weather seems different somehow, protected by the towering walls. A different world exists within the walls, one where wild Indian ponies graze peacefully on the green valley floor. Edition size: 39 small; 24 large; artist: Laurie Larwood.

Taking a Look© is an iconic scene of a coyote checking out this ghost town in late afternoon, as the shadows grow longer. When it was bustling, this town was centered on a shaft hunting gold near the Lost Dutchman mine. The Superstition Mountains are in the background. Tightrope Walker© is a tropical butterfly strutting across a fern bridge at Tucson’s Botanical Garden. We usually think of these creatures as fluttering in the wind, but this beauty has found a safe refuge and has decided to walk safely toward the next flower.
