4-1 - Flowers and Plants
Our digitographers look for beauty in some unusual places, and the high resolution digital camera is an ideal way to capture it. Flowers and plants hold a special mystery, however. We think we know them. The closer we look, the more delicate and wonderful they become. The work of the digital artist is able to emphasize that intimate relationship in wondrous ways. Be sure and check our other galleries; they overlap a little.
For your convenience, we've placed only a few images on each page of this gallery. When you are ready, go to page 2, or 3 or in this gallery, or use the tags at the top to view other galleries on our site and place your order.

Astromeria ▲
Astromeria©. Sometimes the simple beauty of a flower overpowers us. Look closely at these astromeria and you will see the soft speckles on just a few of the delicate top petals. We think that a passing bee would be so taken by the speckles that it would stop in its tracks, dropping down to the pollen-laden parts to admire the scene. It works for us. Edition size: 29 small; 19 large; artist: Sherry Shamroth.

◄ By the Post
By the Post© in a garden in Mendocino, California, hides what seems to be a wonderful variegated flax. It has purposely dodged from the camera, hoping we won’t see it, and will pass by, attracted only by the pink flowers of the foreground. Don’t let it get away. Edition size: 49 small; 11 large; artist: Sherry Shamroth.

Desert Sands ►
Desert Sands© shows a part of White Sands National Monument. Here a flowering yucca reaches from beneath the base of the dunes up through the surface until they seemingly touch the sky. In its shadow, a little lizard waits for a tasty bug. Although tan and blue, the lizard is pale so as blend in and not itself become a meal. Edition size: 39 small; 24 large; artist: Laurie Larwood.
Feathering Her Nest© shows a cactus wren industriously scouting for new materials for her nest. This particular feather doesn’t seem to have been previously owned by the wren, but it does seem certain to have a second life as a comforter to the wren’s new brood hidden away in the juniper. Edition size: 39 small; 24 large; artist: Laurie Larwood.
